Action methods, created during the early decades of the twentieth century by J. L. Moreno, MD, and developed by many of his students, have had thorough and widespread albeit insufficiently recognized- impact on psychotherapy and professional training. Psychodrama is a method that emphasizes action, rather than mere talk, postulating that human beings learn through action and interaction. Backed by a strong theoretical foundation and existential philosophy, psychodrama uses many techniques aimed at deepening emotional expression, cognitive insights and behavioral change.
This cluster of action-oriented methods is based on group therapy, psychodrama and sociometry in a safe and affirming setting. Members have the opportunity to explore various issues such as social and personal relationships, family of origin, work & career challenges, positive identity, and tapping their creative potential. These methods are effective, empowering, and fun.
